Rowley is a suburban community in located in Essex County 28 miles north of Boston with a total area of 20.59 square miles. The commuter rail makes this town an easy commute to Boston. Rowley has a blend of primarily single family homes and multi family homes with intown and rural neighborhoods. In addition to residential neighborhoods, there are a few retail and commercial business areas.

Rowley amenities include the Georgetown / Rowley State forest, which offer recreational activities like hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and cross country skiing, and the Muddy Creek (river), Rowley river, and Plum Island Sound for boating and fishing.
